STONEHAM, MA — In what was one of the more contentious state Representative races in recent memory, incumbent Democratic Rep. Michael Day defeated Republican challenger and Stoneham selectwoman Caroline Colarusso Tuesday.   Day was victorious in Winchester by an unofficial count of 7,195 to 4,659, according to the Winchester Town Clerk's office.
