DCR Truck Rolls into Spot Pond
The Department of Conservation and Recreation is investigating to determine the cause of the incident.

STONEHAM, MA — A truck owned by the Department of Conservation and Recreation rolled into Spot Pond Sunday, according to Stoneham Fire Chief Matthew Grafton.
Grafton told Patch that the truck rolled into the pond and proceeded to float out between 40 and 50 feet into the pond before sinking to the bottom. Grafton also stated that state police divers had to attach tow ropes to the vehicle to get it out of the water, and the removal took several hours.
According to a report by FOX 25, one DCR employee got out of the truck not thinking it was in gear, and it rolled into the pond. A second employee still in the truck managed to swim to safety.
