Chicken Soup for the Soul: Living the Catholic Faith with LeAnn Thieman

A Lenten Mission at Saint Patrick Church

LeAnn Thiemann will be traveling to Stoneham from her home in Fort Collins, Colorado to present our Lenten Mission this year. LeAnn is the best -selling author of a whole series of books in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, including Chicken Soup for the Soul: Living Catholic Faith and her most recent publication volume Chicken Soup for the Soul: A Book of Miracles. All of her books will be available for purchase during the three nights of the mission and LeAnn will be pleased to autograph the books following her presentation each evening.

LeAnn is a motivational speaker who has held audiences enthralled across the country, especially as she has brought a message of renewed dedication to those who share with her the special commitment of the nursing profession. She is most importantly a loving wife, mother and grandmother. You will also come to know her as woman of deep and abiding faith.  When she's not writing stories beside a peaceful mountain stream, LeAnn enjoys hiking, gardening, playing with her grandkids, horseback riding and dancing to that old-time rock n' roll!

We are singularly blessed to welcome LeAnn Thiemann to Saint Patrick Parish as the first lay person and the first woman to present our three-night Lenten Mission.

Light One Candle in the Darkness

Chicken Soup for the Soul, Living Catholic Faith

100 little babies lay three and four to a cardboard box, strapped in the belly of a gutted cargo jet. Saigon was falling to the communists - - and LeAnn was “accidentally” caught up in the Vietnam Orphan Airlift.

Through God's grace, she endured and is living proof that God uses ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things. By sharing her amazing adventure of rescuing babies during Operation Babylift, LeAnn reminds us that we don't have to fly into a war zone to make a difference in the world. Stories from Chicken Soup for the Soul, Living Catholic Faith prove her conviction that, just as God led her to Vietnam, He leads us all when we trust His guidance. This presentation, filled with hope, love, truth, and forgiveness, nourishes the souls of all Catholics, deepening and renewing their faith.

Balancing Life in Your “War Zones”

LeAnn will draw on her experience as a nurse and a woman of faith  to provide practical advice on the ways in which we can get ourselves in better shape: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. A number of priests will be available on Tuesday evening to share the healing power of forgiveness within the Sacrament of Reconciliation for those who would like to avail themselves of this opportunity.
