Free evening of fun and entertainment. Thursday, April 12th re-release of Joanne Harriman's video "Spot Pont in the 1800's". In her own words, hear about a grizzly unsolved murder of Jacob Gould and the wildly popular but illegal boxing matches on Great Island. Learn also about the varied commercial and recreational activities centered in, on and around Spot Pond and the stately mansions that once dotted its shorelines. Doors open at 7:30 to browse the collection of artifacts from Stoneham's past as well as see a new exhibit celebrating 100 years of Girl Scouting. As usual, a short business meeting will start at 7:45 and the program thereafter. Open to the general public along with current members of the Stoneham Historical Society.
