1. Wet and windy: The rain and wind picked up overnight and steady showers and thunderstorms are expected to hit the area before 1 p.m., according to the National Weather Service's forecast for Stoneham. There may be some patchy fog before 9 a.m. Temperatures are anticipated to dip to the mid-30s by 5 p.m., while a south wind of 11 to 21 miles per hour may sweep through before eventually becoming a northwesterly wind.

2. School session: The School Building Committee is slated to meet at 7:30 p.m. in Room 125 at , 149 Franklin St. Boston-based Tappe Associates, which was recently tabbed to take on the renovation of Stoneham Middle School, is expected to make a presentation regarding the project.

3. Game time! Seniors can enjoy playing canasta at 1 p.m. at the Stoneham Senior Center, 136 Elm St.
