Frequent Customer Nabbed After Armed Robbery
The Stoneham man robbed the Stop N Save convenience store on Monday.

Stoneham Police arrested a 21-year-old Stoneham man after he allegedly robbed the Stop N Save convenience store on Franklin Street on Monday evening.
Brendan M. Sweet-Rainey, 21, of Stoneham, was charged on Tuesday afternoon with armed robbery while masked and assault with intent to commit armed robbery.
Police Chief James McIntyre praised the cooperation between the Stoneham Police and Stoneham business community in capturing the suspect ”after a review of good surveillance footage and tips from business owners.”

According to Stoneham Police:
“Stoneham Police responded to the store on Monday evening around 8 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery. Sweet-Rainey allegedly went into the store with a black handgun, a fake beard, and a shirt partially covering his face. The clerk, however, recognized his voice as a frequent customer known to her as ’Brenden.’ The owner of the store, after reviewing surveillance footage with police, also positively identified Sweet-Rainey as the suspect, saying that he is a frequent customer.

“Sweet-Rainey was arrested at his home on Tuesday morning without incident. He will be arraigned in Woburn District Court.”
