Heart and Humor Fill The Legend Of Georgia McBride

Greater Boston Stage Company's raucous comedy opens May 3 in Stoneham.

A release from the Greater Boston Stage Company on it's next show, The Legend of Georgia McBride:

How does an Elvis impersonator become a winning drag queen in the Florida Panhandle? Join us to find out in The Legend of Georgia McBride, a heartfelt, raucous comedy filled with music, laughter, and lots of sequins. Directed and choreographed by Russell Garrett, performances run May 3-20.

“After first reading the script of Georgia McBride, I was all in about working on this show,” shares Garrett, the director/choreographer. “I think it has a wonderful blend of uproarious humor and also heart, which is a terrific combination for a play. This play ultimately is about finding your own voice and doing what brings you joy, even when that seems at odds with the way you have believed your life should be lived. We all experience those moments in our lives when what our hearts want doesn't always mesh with 'the plan' we've set for ourselves.”
