Joseph Connolly Passes Away

Connolly raised his family in Stoneham before moving to North Reading.

Joseph F. Connolly of North Reading, formerly of Stoneham passed away on Sunday,
Dec. 16 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. He was 77 years of age.

Joseph was the devoted husband of the late Kathleen (Kay) E. Connolly. Joe and Kay
were married for 49 years. They raised their family in Stoneham before moving to North
Reading. Joseph was the loving son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick J. Connolly of Woburn,
MA. He was the cherished father to Jason Connolly and his wife Renee and Eileen Kerr and her
husband Shawn. The beloved grandfather to Madison, Kathleen, Patrick, and Coleman, Joseph
was the brother of the late Barbara Corrieri and her husband Bob, Joanie Connolly, and Kathleen
Connolly. He is also survived by many sister and brother in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews,
and dear friends.

Joe grew up on Buckman St. in Woburn, MA. He attended St. Charles School in
Woburn, MA until eighth grade. For high school, he attended Keith Academy in Lowell, MA.
Joe graduated from Boston College with a degree in accounting. Joe worked for M. I. T. for 45
years and retired there as Assistant Director of the Research Lab of Electronics (RLE). Joe loved
to golf with his friends at the Thomson Country Club, travel with his family, tell a good story,
and watch his grandchildren play sports. He has been a blessing to his family and he will be
forever missed.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28), Stoneham on
Friday, Dec. 21st at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Joseph’s Eternal Life in
Saint Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 am. Family and friends are cordially
invited to gather and share memories with Joseph’s Family on Thursday, December 20th from 4-8 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Riverside Cemetery North Reading.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boston Children’s Hospital as his grandson
Patrick is an Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia survivor at 401 Park Dr. Suite 602, Boston, MA
