A Letter In Support of Elaine Trant Brown

Caroline Colarusso endorses Brown for School Committee.

To the Editor:

I am writing in support of Elaine Trant Brown for School Committee in our upcoming town election on April 4th. Elaine brings passion for the position that originated in her high school years in Stoneham when she was a member of student government. Elaine’s determination and town spirit will prove invaluable in her efforts to increase enrollment and restore a high level of confidence and performance as our students prepare to compete in a global marketplace.

Elaine believes in giving parents a real voice in their child’s education. Elaine clearly distinguished herself in the recent debate as the “ parents’ choice candidate”. Elaine believes advocating for your child is an essential and natural role of a parent and will fight to ensure students are provided the services they need to succeed. Elaine’s commitment to students requiring special needs will prove valuable as the needs of Stoneham students change and intervention is necessary in early education settings.

Elaine further distinguished herself as the candidate with professional business experience in her career having worked with municipalities and state agencies providing professional advice and cost savings which she will bring to the School Committee which is long overdue. The School Department like every other town department must be in a position to control costs in order to expend your tax dollars wisely and effectively. Elaine will do just that.

It’s time for change on our school committee, and Elaine Trant Brown has the ability to generate enthusiasm and real change while planning for the future of our children. I believe that it is time for a change, and that Elain Trant Brown is the change that Stoneham badly needs. I will be voting Elaine Trant Brown on Tuesday April 4th.
