Patriot receiver Malcolm Mitchell presents his book to Stoneham principals.

A release from the Stoneham Bank:
StonehamBank presented the Principals of the Colonial Park, Robin Hood, and South Elementary schools in Stoneham with a copy of “The Magician’s Hat” on April 6th, following a reading rally with Patriots player Malcolm Mitchell.
Mitchell signed three exclusive large copies of his award winning book specifically to these schools. The previous week, StonehamBank sponsored a reading rally with Malcolm Mitchell where he read his book to all second and third grade students in Stoneham and gave them an inspirational talk on the power of reading.

After the books were signed, they were brought back to StonehamBank where Executive Vice President, Edward Doherty, presented the books to Colonial Park Principal Sarah Hardy and South Elementary Principal Sharon Bird. Superintendent of Stoneham Public Schools John Macero accepted a copy on behalf of Robin Hood principal Maura Donoghue, who was unable to attend.
“StonehamBank was honored to have New England Patriot and Super Bowl Champion Malcolm Mitchell do a rally with us,” says Doherty. “Giving a signed copy of the book to each elementary school courtesy of us was the icing on the cake. These kids are going to remember our event forever.”

StonehamBank provided over 300 students with a copy of “The Magician’s Hat” along with football-shaped piggy banks on March 29th at the Reading Rally. Malcolm Mitchell and his organization “Read with Malcolm” perform the reading rallies at schools all around the country to promote the power of reading. Mitchell himself struggled to learn how to read until college where he discovered his passion for it and wishes to teach school aged children the same.
StonehamBank partnered with Malcolm Mitchell in 2017 to promote literacy to the community not only through books, but financially as well.
