MBTA Bus Driver Accused of Leaving Scene of Melrose Crash Arrested in Stoneham: Reports

STONEHAM, MA — A Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority bus driver was arrested in Stoneham after allegedly hitting a car in Melrose Thursday night, according to multiple media reports.
MBTA officials are now investigating whether the driver was under the influence of prescription drugs. Multiple reports indicate that Bus No. 540 was traveling on West Wyoming Avenue in Melrose when it hit a parked vehicle.
Concerned passengers later called 911, and the buss was pulled over by state police on Main Street in Stoneham.
