Michael Day Thanks Voters For Election Win

61 percent of voters in Winchester and Stoneham support incumbent.

Michael Day released a statement Tuesday just before 9 p.m.

"I want to thank the voters of Stoneham and Winchester. This campaign was focused on moving our community forward and rejecting the recent trend of the politics of destruction. I am obviously very pleased with the results, which are a statement of this district’s values. I will work hard every day in the coming term to honor this vote and to work with all members of our community to continue to move Stoneham, Winchester and Massachusetts forward."

As for the numbers, in Stoneham, Day received 6,209 votes to 4,411 for Caroline Colarusso. In Winchester, Day received 6,658 votes to Colarusso's 3,740 votes. In total, Day received 61 percent of the vote.

On the ballot questions, on Question 1 (nurses) Stoneham voters overwhelmingly voted No, 8,109 to 2,274 supporting Yes.

On Question 3 (gender rights), 6,881 voted Yes with 3,812 voting No.

Stoneham also supported Charlie Baker, Elizabeth Warren, Maura Healey, Suzanne Bump, Katherine Clark, Deborah Goldberg, and Jason Lewis.

All told, 11,109 voters out of 16,584 registered voters turned out or 66.99 percent.
