Middle School Students inspired by Rob Surette's Amazing Hero Art

The Stoneham Central Middle School PTO wishes to express thanks to the The Stoneham Education Foundation (SBCEF) and The Multi-Service Educational Learning and Development Center (M.E.L.D) for providing a grant that helped to pay for our recent visit by Rob Surette.

Rob Surette, Disney artist, does speed painting and is on a mission to inspire kids to change the world for a better place. He motivated the students to be the best version of themselves and to “find what makes you special, work at it, and share it with the world.” There were moments the kids were cheering and others absolutely silent and reflective. It was quite an inspirational experience for all; it even had the adults in the room at times reaching for tissues.

The SCMS PTO organized the event and applied for a grant from The Stoneham Business and Community Foundation (SBCEF) www.sbcef.org to help supplement the project. SBCEF is a non-profit organization formed to develop a partnership among Stoneham's citizens, educational community, and business sector. Its goal is to promote the personal and educational growth of the town's youth.

M.E.L.D, which provided the funding for this project, has provided impactful programing and funded enriching projects in Stoneham for almost 50 years. They have had a focus on funding art and art education programs and recently merged with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield in a collaborative effort to continue to provide impactful funding to arts programs in our community.
