New York Woman Charged With Running Illegal Massage Parlor, Offering Sexual Favors to Clients

Fengxia Wang, 51, of Flushing, N.Y., faces charges of sexual conduct for a fee and operating an unlicensed massage parlor in Stoneham.

A New York woman is accused of offering sexual services from an illegal massage parlor on Montvale Avenue in Stoneham, according to police.

Fengxia Wang, 51, of Flushing, N.Y., faces charges of sexual conduct for a fee and operating an unlicensed massage parlor from an apartment at 71 Montvale Ave., police said.

In mid-November, Stoneham police's vice/narcotics unit and the Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force launched an investigation following an anonymous tip about Wang allegedly offering sexual favors for a fee, according to Chief Richard Bongiorno. The tipster provided police with a phone number to contact Wang to set up a session.

"Surveillance was done outside the apartment complex on several occasions, and we talked to an exiting customer who provided us information," Bongiorno said, adding that the undercover unit later made arrangements with Wang.

At 1:01 p.m. Dec. 5, Wang was arrested at unit 10 of 71 Montvale Ave., according to the police log.

For the fourth time in the past 18 months, police shut down an illegal massage parlor in town; however, "this was the first one made at a dwelling unit," said Bongiorno. The police chief said there doesn't appear to be a connection between Wang's alleged illegal massage parlor with the other shuttered operations except that the women arrested were of Asian descent.

While Wang may have been arrested, the investigation is ongoing, Bongiorno said. Wang was reportedly arraigned earlier in the week in a Woburn court.
