Obituary: Scott McNamara, 22, of Stoneham

McNamara was a student at University of Massachusetts Lowell.

Scott M. McNamara, 22, of Stoneham, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 10.

Born in Melrose on July 12, 1992, he was the son of Michael J. and Mary C. (Anzalone) McNamara. Scott was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 2010, and was attending the University of Massachusetts in Lowell.

He loved running and enjoyed all sports and music. His smile, laughter and sense of humor will be missed as well as his kindness and friendship.

In addition to his parents, Scott is survived by his loving sister Katie McNamara of Stoneham, his cherished grandparents Daniel and Mary McNamara of Reading, formerly of Wakefield, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Richard and Patricia Anzalone.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham, on Thursday at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 9 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scott M. McNamara Scholarship Fund, c/o Stoneham High School, 149 Franklin St., Stoneham, MA 02180.
