Police Log: Vehicle Crashes into Pole After Sliding on Snow in Stoneham

At 1:10 a.m. Jan. 20, Stoneham Police respond to the area of Central and Elm Streets for a report of a motor vehicle crash. A vehicle with a Massachusetts license plate reportedly slid in the snow into a pole. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

@7:40 a.m.: Police called to Murdock Road for a report of a child locked in a vehicle. The child was freed from the vehicle a short time later.

@9 a.m.: Police respond to on a report of a past larceny. The victim claims their credit card was used to make unauthorized purchases. Police to investigate.

@1:39 p.m.: Police called to on a report of an assault. The victim entered the building to pick up an item and was allegedly shoved by another person. Police to investigate.

@1:49 p.m.: Police respond to Forest Street for a report of a hypodermic needle found on the ground. An officer collected and properly disposed of the item.

@4 p.m.: Police called to a Franklin Street apartment complex for a report of an entrapment. A man was stuck in an elevator, but was freed a short time later. Police contacted management about the ongoing issue.

@4:16 p.m.: Police respond to a motor vehicle crash on Montvale Avenue. No injuries reported.

@4:37 p.m.: Police called to the area of Summer and Summerhill Streets for a report of a box of nails in the road. DPW callman notified.

@5:19 p.m.: Police called to on Main Street for a report of a found purse. Police contacted the owner of the purse and they retrieved it later from the Police Station.

@5:23 p.m.: Police receive a call about a sewer backing up into a home on Valley Road. DPW paged out.

Jan. 20

@3:58 a.m.: Police called to George Street to check on a person after their vehicle became stuck in the snow in front of the woman caller's home and she noticed the driver was walking outside the vehicle barefoot. No arrest was made.
