Police Log: Armed Robbery and a Reported Rape

Armed Robbery at Tanning Salon 

At 8:12 p.m. Nov. 1, Stoneham Police responded to Sunset Tanning for a report of an armed robbery. A female employee claims the store was robbed by a man with a handgun, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black pants, according to police. Police filed a report.

Reported Rape

At 4:29 p.m. Nov. 3, police responded to Main Street Mobil for a report of a rape. The victim claimed that the incident occurred at UMass Boston Library, according to police. UMass Police were notified and responded to Massachusetts General Hospital to speak with the victim, according to police.

Nov. 1

9:38 a.m.: Police called to Wright Street for a report of a minor motor vehicle accident. Insurance paperwork exchanged, according to police. No tows or transports logged.

6:06 p.m.: Police responded to CVS on Main Street for a report of a shoplifter. A female shoplifter fled the store in a vehicle with a Massachusetts license plate, according to police. 

Nov. 2

3:14 p.m.: Police called to Montvale Avenue for a report of a past hit-and-run incident. Police to file a report.

9:34 a.m.: Police called to Barbara Road on a report of a loose dog. The caller reported that a dog in the neighborhood is let loose several times a day and is "defecating on various properties," according to police. A message was left the the Animal Control Officer Brian Johnston, according to police.

6:44 p.m.: Police responded to Pomeworth Street on a report of a past assault and battery. Police to file a report.

8:01 p.m.: Police called to the area of Elm Street and William Street for a report of a minor motor vehicle accident. No tows or transports logged. Drivers exchanged insurance paperwork, according to police.

10:29 p.m.: Police responded to Colonial Court on a report of a past larceny. Police to file a report.

Nov. 3

9:27 a.m.: Police called to the area of Fellsway Easte and West Wyoming Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle crash. No tows or transports logged.

10:55 a.m.: Police responded to a Greenview Road apartment on a report of vandalism. The caller reported that their home got egged overnight and that it's an ongoing issue, according to police. Police to file a report.

11:09 a.m.: Police called to the Dunkin' Donuts on Franklin Street for a report of a man and female acting in an abusive manner toward a young child while in the coffee shop and also in the parking lot. The vehicle left the lot with the child unsecured in an unknown direction, according to police. The suspects' motor vehicle could not be located in the area and a be-on-the-lookout was broadcast, according to police.

11:40 a.m.: Police called to Main Street for a report of a "vey minor" hit-and-run incident. A vehicle sideswiped another vehicle, according to police. Parties exchanged insurance paperwork, according to police.

1:41 p.m.: Police responded to Redstone Shopping Center for a report of an attempted breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. A woman claimed someone tried to break into her vehicle while parked in the lot, according to police.

2:43 p.m.: Police called to Hancock Street for a report of a larceny. The caller reported their vehicle's rear license plate was stolen, according to police. The stolen plate number was recorded with CJIS and NCIC, according to police.

3:11 p.m.: Police responded to Lindenwood Cemetery on Montvale Avenue for a report of a possible vandalism. The caller reported finding their family member's gravestone tipped over, according to police. Police were unsure if the gravestone was knocked over by a vehicle or tipped over by hand. Police were expected to follow-up with the DPW.

Nov. 4

9:16 a.m.: Police called to Maple Street for a report of a larcent. The caller claimed their vehicle's rear license plate was stolen, according to police. Police were unable to fully enter the stolen plate at the time due to the NCIC being down statewide.
