POLICE LOG: Dorchester Man Charged With Drug Possession in Stoneham

At 6:13 p.m. July 22, Stoneham police responded to the Middlesex Fells Reservation in the Fellsway West area on a drug task force assignment. A man was arrested and a vehicle with Massachusetts plates was towed. Luis Sosa, 25, of 6 Rosedale, Dorchester, was arrested and charged with a drug violation near a school or park, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of a class A drug with the intent to distribute.

@8:44 p.m.: Police called to Avon Street for a report of fireworks. The caller told police that fireworks were going off in her neighborhood, and she believed it was the same people who were lighting fireworks around 3:45 that morning. Party denied having any fireworks left and promised that there wouldn't be any additional complaints.

@3:21 p.m.: Police called to I-93 northbound on a report of brush fires. Police received several reports of small fires along the guardrail northbound between Roosevelt Circle and Winchester Highlands. Medford Fire Department also responded. Engine 3 cleared with just a driver crew to stay with Engine 4. Engine 4 returned to get more water.
