Police Log: Gun Stolen, Coyote Sighting & A Stepmother Stealing DVDs?

Gun Stolen

At 12:09 a.m. Oct. 20, Stoneham Police responded to Cricklewood Drive for a report of a past breaking and entering with a gun stolen from the property. The caller reported the break-in occurred on the second floor, as he returned home to find the door open and the place a mess, according to police. Police told the homeowner not to touch anything until Monday when detectives would be available. The gun was entered into the NCIC as stolen, according to police. Police to file a report.

Where have all the DVDs gone?

At 1:23 a.m. Oct. 20, police called to Upland Road on a report of a larceny. The caller reported his stepmother was stealing DVDs from the house, according to police. Police to file a report.

Coyote wandering Stoneham

At 7:57 p.m. Oct. 20, police responded to North Street for a report of a coyote in the street. The caller reported people were approaching the animal, according to police. The coyote was gone on arrival.

Oct. 20

@3:31 a.m.: Police called to George Street for a report of a sewer backup. The caller reported her basement was flooded due to the sewage backup, according to police. DPW was notified and responded.

@3:36 a.m.: Police received a call from a Gracewood Road homeowner about her basement being flooded due to a sewer backup. DPW was notified and responded, according to police. 

@11:52 a.m.: Police cruiser was flagged down at Redstone Shopping Center for a report of a hit-and-run incident. Suspect may have been aware of contact, according to police. Police to file a report.

@3:21 p.m.: Police called to CVS Pharmacy on Main Street for a report of customer allegedly passing two counterfeit $20 bills at 10:30 a.m. Police to file a report.

@3:41 p.m.: Police responded to Redstone Shopping Center for a report of a hit-and-run incident. Second driver returned to the scene to exchange insurance paperwork, according to police.

Oct. 21

@5:05 p.m.: Police called to North Street for a report of a past attempted breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. The caller reported seeing a wire stuck in car window, according to police. Police to file a report.

@8:34 p.m.: Police responded to Main Street for a report of a past breaking and entering into a vehicle. The caller reported items stolen from their car, according to police. Police to file a report.
