Police Log: Knife-Wielding Stoneham Man Accused of Assault & Battery

At 6:16 p.m. Aug. 31, Stoneham Police responded to Mountain View Drive for a report of an assault and battery in progress. A female caller reported being threatened by a man wielding a knife in the rear parking lot, according to police. Andrew Mucci, 51, of 200 Mountain View Dr., Stoneham, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (knife), assault and battery on a person over the age of 60/disabled and threatening to commit a crime.

@12:02 a.m.: Police called to Melba Lane for a report of motor vehicle vandalism. The caller reported an unknown person just slashed their tires and fled Melba Lane toward Green Street, according to police. Calls were stacked and no units were immediately available, according to police. Suspect fled prior to officer's arrival.

@3:38 p.m.: Police responded to Main Street on a report of a two-car accident. The caller reported he was involved in the accident, according to police. No injuries or tows reported.

@7:41 p.m.: Police called to Park Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Drivers got into an argument following the accident, according to police. No arrests or tows reported.
