POLICE LOG: Melrose Man Charged With Assaulting Another Driver Using a Handgun in Road Rage Incident

At 2:45 p.m. May 2, Stoneham police responded to the area of Franklin and Stevens Streets for a report of road rage. Vasilios Mihalos, 20, of 1058 Main St., Melrose, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. Mihalos allegedly brandished a handgun during the incident with another driver.

@11:33 a.m.: Police called to the area of Lindenwood Road and West Road for a report of tree down in the roadway. One lane was blocked. Officer waited for DPW crew member to cut up the tree.

@2:02 a.m.: Police called to Cottage Street for a report of a breaking and entering into a vehicle. The suspect fled on Cottage Street toward . No arrest reported.

@7:31 a.m.: Police respond to Pond Street on a report of a motor vehicle accident. No transports to area hospitals. State Police handling the investigation.

@12:05 p.m.: Police called to the area of Park Terrace Drive and West Wyoming for a report of motor vehicle accident. One person was taken to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

@9:02 p.m.: Police respond to the area of Hersam and Main Streets for a report of motor vehicle crash. No injuries reported.

@8:07 a.m.: Police called to Pond Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Two patients declined treatment.

@9:58 a.m.: Police assisted with an escape animal drill.

@12:16 p.m.: Police respond to the area of Main Street and Montvale Avenue for a report of a minor motor vehicle accident. No injures or tows reported.

@6:18 p.m.: Police called to a Wagner Road home for a report of a possible theft. Police to investigate.
