Police Log: North Reading Man Charged With Shoplifting at Famous Footwear; Stoneham Man Accused of Assaulting an Officer

Dec. 9

@8:57 a.m.: Police called to Franklin Street for a report of a past motor vehicle break-in. The victim's right front window was broken during the night, but nothing was reported stolen. Police to investigate.

@9:58 a.m.: Police respond to Lynn Fells Parkway and Pond Street area for a report of a motor vehicle crash. State Police were notified. Two people were injured and taken to area hospitals by Melrose Fire and Cataldo.

@2:05 p.m.: Police called to Main Street on a report of a motor vehicle crash. One vehicle was towed from the scene. No injuries reported.

@5:40 p.m.: Police respond to on a report of a shoplifter. Larry Edward, 29, of 276B Park St., North Reading, was arrested and charged with two counts of shoplifting by asportation, third offense.

Dec. 10

@2:14 p.m.: Police respond to Main Street on a report of unauthorized social security number use. The victim told police that their social security number was used without permission to open a cable account. Police to investigate.

@7:13 p.m.: Police called to the Newcomb Road and Perkins Street area for a report of ice in the roadway. A DPW snow foreman responded.

@7:30 p.m.: Police respond to William Street for a report of an intoxicated man. Police arrested Jon Sanders, 45, of 102 William St., Stoneham, and charged him with disorderly conduct, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

@8:09 p.m.: Police called to the Bow Street and Green Street area on a report of a motor vehicle accident. Two vehicles towed from the scene, and five patient refusals were reported.
