POLICE LOG: Officers Search for Trio Accused of Breaking Into Vehicles

At 4:18 a.m. Aug. 22, Stoneham police called to Benton Street for a report of a breaking and entering into motor vehicles in progress. The caller reported three kids in all black clothing checking motor vehicles parked in the street. Officers apprehended one of the suspects who confirmed he and the two others were breaking into vehicles, according to police. Police broadcasted over area wide stations for a K9 unit, and State Police K9 unit responded. Winchester police dispatched an officer to Marble Street at Park Street, while Woburn police responded to Montvale Avenue at Maple Street. Other suspects could not be located. A summons was sought for one taken into custody.

@12 a.m.: Police responded to Fellsway East for a report of large vases stolen.

@12:34 a.m.: Police called to for a report of counterfeit bills. The store clerk reported a customer came into the business with multiple counterfeit bills. Police to file a report.

@9:24 a.m.: Police responded to for a report of shoplifting. The caller reported a male and female shoplifted food items, according to police. The duo left on foot toward Woburn. Police to file a report.

@9:54 a.m.: Police called to Main Street for a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle. The caller claimed their neighbor vandalized her car. Police filed a report.

@11:14 a.m.: Police responded to Leisure Lane apartment complex on a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle. Officers discovered three tires of a vehicle were damaged on Aug. 22. A summons was sought.

@3:59 p.m.: Police called to Gorham Avenue for a report of a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. The caller reported prescriptions stolen from their vehicle. Police to file a report.

@5:42 p.m.: Police called to Franklin Street for a report of a past breaking and entering. The caller reported their sister's wallet had been stolen. Police to file a report.

@9:30 p.m.: Police responded to on Main Street for a report of a past larceny. The caller reported their Massachusetts driver's license and keys stolen from locker between 8-9 p.m., according to police. Log entry only.
