Police Log: Reading Man Arrested on Two Warrants After Traffic Stop in Stoneham

At 4:45 p.m. on Feb. 22, Stoneham Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Main Street. Matthew Mannering, 38, of 17 Village St., Reading, was arrested on warrants charging him with resisting arrest and leaving the scene of property damage.

@12:01 p.m.: Police called to the area of Meadow Road and South Marble Street on a report of a hypodermic needle found. The item was recovered by an officer and disposed of properly.
@12:14 p.m.: Police responded to the Fellsway West area for a report of a motor vehicle accident. State Police were on scene upon arrival. No injuries reported.

@5:02 p.m.: Police called to Waverly Street on a report of identity theft. The victim claimed an unknown party opened a Comcast account using their maiden name.
@5:04 p.m.: Police respond to Pond Street for a report of a minor motorcycle crash. No injuries reported.
@5:59 p.m.: Police called to Warren Street for a report of a box alarm activation. There was reportedly an odor of gas in the building. A pilot light was out on a stove, and the building aired out. No injuries reported.
Feb. 22
@4:37 a.m.: Police called to Montvale Avenue for a report of people dumpster diving. No one was arrested.
@11:54 a.m.: Police called to Main Street for a motor vehicle crash. A verbal dispute going on upon arrival. Minor accident with no injuries reported.
@1:04 p.m.: Police respond to on a report of an unauthorized charge on a bank-issued Visa credit card. No investigation conducted, as it was reported just for documentation purposes.
@9:54 p.m.: Police respond to Center Beverage on Main Street on a report of kids harassing customers in front of the store. Kids sent on their way.
Feb. 23
@11:06 a.m.: Police called to North Street on a report of two hypodermic needles found on the sidewalk. Police recovered the items and they were properly disposed of.
@1:29 p.m.: Police respond to on a report of shoplifting. A woman wearing a red hat allegedly ran out of the store with men's shoes. The shoes were returned by police. No arrest reported.
@7:16 p.m.: Police called to the area of Main Street and Maple Street on a report of a motor vehicle crash. No one transported to the hospital.
Feb. 24
@12:50 p.m.: Police respond to Dewitt Road on a report of vandalism. A car parked at that location was egged sometime overnight. Police to investigate.
@2:21 p.m.: Police called to Main Street on a report of a motor vehicle accident. One person was transported to Winchester Hospital, while two vehicles were towed away.
@2:33 p.m.: Police respond to the area of Main and Avon Streets in Wakefield to provide mutual aid on a fire call. They were released at 2:56 p.m.
@6:27 p.m.: Police respond to Central Street on a report of an hit-and-run. Police to investigate.
Feb. 25
@11:01 a.m.: Police called to the Bellevue Road and Converse Street area for a report of a tree and wires down. DPW cleared scene. NSTAR notified.
@11:10 a.m.: Police respond to Forest Street for a report of a tree down, blocking the roadway. DPW cleared scene.
@11:33 a.m.: Police called to Main Street on a report of hypodermic needles found with beer cans and spoons in the lot. Items recovered and disposed of properly.
@2:23 p.m.: Police respond to the area of Elm and Main Streets for a motor vehicle crash. No injuries reported.
@10:16 p.m.: Police called to Calthea Street following a box alarm activation. An oil burner problem was the culprit, and the smoke ejector was used. No one was injured.
Feb. 26
@2:33 a.m.: Police make a motor vehicle stop in the area of Broadway and Main Street. Jaime Ramos, 22, of 7 Chelmsford St., Methuen, was arrested and charged with marked lines violation and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
@5:36 a.m.: Police called to Warren Street following a report of a carbon monoxide activation. The heat was shut down due to a low reading. No one reported injured.
@11:18 a.m.: Police called to Hanford Road for a report of two vehicles vandalized. Tires were found slashed and keyed in the driveway. Police to investigate.
@1:39 p.m.: Police respond to the area of Main Street and North Street on a report of a motor vehicle crash. No one injured. No tows reported.
@2:40 p.m.: Police called to Tamarock Terrace for a report of a knife found in the driveway. Homeowner unsure how it got there. No arrest made.
@4:36 p.m.: Police respond to on a report of a past breaking and entering into a vehicle. Nothing reported stolen.
@9:17 p.m.: Police provide mutual aid to the area of Ferdinand and Franklin Streets in Melrose on a report of a fight involving a robbery suspect.
