POLICE LOG: Saugus Man Accused of Drunk Driving in Stoneham

At 9:49 p.m. Aug. 19, Stoneham police responded to the area of Main Street and Montvale Avenue on multiple reports of an erratic driver from Woburn police and passing motorists. Police stopped the vehicle, performed checks and Lawrence Lamau, 62, of 30 Hamilton St., Saugus, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicating liquor and a marker lanes violation. A tow truck was contacted.

@2:33 a.m.: Police called to South Street on a report of a motor vehicle crash. The caller told police that a vehicle involved in the crash with another vehicle fled the scene. State Police searched for the suspect vehicle, but couldn't locate it.

@11:34 a.m.: Police responded to Main Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident with personal injury. Two people declined medical treatment. No tows reported. Report to follow.

@8:17 p.m.: Police responded to on Main Street for a report of a larceny. Caller told police that their iPhone was stolen from the gym sometime between 11 a.m. and noon. Police took a report.

@9:12 p.m.: Police called to on Main Street for a report of possible vandalism. The caller told police someone may be vandalizing the fence on the right side of the store. Officers noted no one in the area and no damage to fence.
