POLICE LOG: Stoneham Mother Watches Son's Vehicle Vandalized by Drive-By Rock Throwers

At 2:24 a.m. April 22, Stoneham police responded to Hancock Road for a report of vandalism. The caller told police that she just witnessed suspects inside a vehicle drive by and throw rocks at her son's vehicle, smashing out the windows. Police to investigate.

@11:05 a.m.: Police respond to Hancock Street for a report of more than $1,000 in scrap metal stolen from the site. Police to investigate.
@12:55 p.m.: Police called to Washington Avenue on a report of solicitors in the area. Kirby Vacuum solicitors told by police to stop soliciting and register with the town.

@1:50 p.m.: Police respond to the area of Elm and Main Streets on a report of a motor vehicle crash. No injuries reported.
@5:25 p.m.: Police called to the area of East and Spring Streets for a report of a motor vehicle crash. A vehicle reportedly struck a parked vehicle in a driveway. Two people declined medical attention.
@6:02 p.m.: Police called to the parking lot at Leisure Lane for a report of a motor vehicle fire. A fire in the front seat caused heavy damage to the interior of the vehicle. Police to investigate.
April 20
@1:11 a.m.: Police called to High Rock Road for a report of a breaking and entering in progress. A woman believed someone was trying to break into her house; however, the call went unfounded and police believe the sounds were from a vehicle being vandalized next door.
@2:06 a.m.: Police called to High Rock Road on a report of vehicle vandalism. The vehicle's window was smashed. Police to investigate.
@6:11 a.m.: Police respond to Evans Street on a report of vehicle vandalism. The vehicle's window was smashed. Police to investigate.
@7:55 a.m.: Police respond to West Street for a report of vehicle vandalism. The vehicle's windshield was broken sometime between 9:30 p.m. April 19 and 7 a.m. April 20. Police to investigate.
@12:42 p.m.: Police called to parking lot for a report of a minor motor vehicle crash. No injuries to report. Police assisted with insurance paperwork swap.
@2:31 p.m.: Police respond to Central Street for a report of a bag holding a laptop and cell phone in a parking lot. The bag was reportedly run over by an elderly motorist in the lot. Police contacted the owner of the bag and later picked up the items from the station.
@2:48 p.m.: Police called to on a report of an outside fire. The business had a fire in a barrel going, but police told the owner that it needed to be put out.
@3:37 p.m.: Police respond to Main St. Mobil on a report of an outside mulch fire in front of the store. Ladder 1 responded and the fire was extinguished.
@5:13 p.m.: Police called to the area of Fieldstone Drive and Rustic Road for a report of vehicle vandalism. Police to investigate.
@5:23 p.m.: Police recover a hypodermic needle from the area of Elmhurst Road and Elm Street. The needle was properly disposed of.
April 21
@6:31 p.m.: Police called to on Main Street for a report of a break-in and theft of personal possessions from a gym locker. Police to investigate.
@10:50 p.m.: Police called to the area of Oak Street and Weld Road for a report of a box alarm. At 10:52 p.m., the alarm was recalled because no fire was showing at the site. A witness on Oak Street claims to have seen a red Dodge Ram flee the scene after the group inside the vehicle triggered the alarm. Police investigating the malicious pull.
April 22
@8:13 a.m.: Police respond to Oak Street for a report of vandalism. A newspaper delivery person reportedly threw the paper too hard and damaged her front door. Police to investigate.
@8:17 a.m.: Police called to Rustic Road on a report of a light post that was vandalized. Police to investigate.
@9:51 a.m.: Police respond to Summer Street for a report of vehicle vandalism. A woman's vehicle sustained damage to the back tail light sometime overnight. Police to investigate.
@11:50 a.m.: Police called to Pomeworth Street on a report of vehicle vandalism. Police to investigate.
@2:53 p.m.: Police respond to Winship Drive on a report of a new model home vandalized by rocks. Police to investigate.
@4:02 p.m.: Police called to Middle Street for a report of vehicle vandalism. The vehicle was vandalized overnight. Police to investigate.
@7:54 p.m.: Police called to Valley Road to retrieve a found round of ammunition.
