Police Log: Stoneham Officers Handle Two Reports of Cars Hitting Houses During a Snowstorm

In less than 10 minutes, Stoneham Police were called to two accident scenes involving cars hitting houses on Jan. 21 during a snowstorm.

At 10:50 a.m., police respond to Franklin Street on a report of car hitting a house. A wall of the building sustained minor damage. No EMS was needed. One vehicle towed from the scene.

Several minutes later at 10:57 a.m., police were called to Main Street for a report of a car hitting a house. No one was injured. One car was towed from the scene.

@12:47 p.m.: Police respond to hit-and-run report on Montvale Avenue. No injuries reported. Papers exchanged.

@12:48 p.m.: Police called to the area of Lynn Fells Parkway and Pond Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. State Police and Melrose Fire were contacted. No one was transported to the hospital.

@1:17 p.m.: Police called to Barbara Road on a report of a trash fire that was soon after extinguished by water.

@1:17 p.m.: Police respond to Montvale Avenue on a report of a hit-and-run. Police to investigate.

@4:12 p.m.: Police respond to the area of Ravine Road and Woodland Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident with personal injury. State Police notified. One person was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. No arrests made.

@7:36 p.m.: Police called to the area of Franklin and Spencer Streets on a report of a hit-and-run. Victim reports his vehicle struck while parked in the area. Officers searched and located suspect's Chevy Trailblazer. Summons to follow.

Jan. 21

@8:54 a.m.: Police called to Crescent Avenue for a report by a parent about their son hitting a tree with their vehicle. No injuries reported.

@10:50 a.m.: Police respond to Franklin Street on a report of car hitting a house. No EMS needed. A wall of the building sustained minor damage. One vehicle towed from the scene.

@10:57 a.m.: Police called to Main Street for a report of a car hitting a house. No one was injured. One car was towed from the scene.

@12:46 p.m.: Police respond to Main Street for a report of a vehicle into a fire hydrant. No injuries reported. DPW notified.

@4:15 p.m.: Police called to Myopia Road and Oak Street area for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a city truck. No injuries reported. Tow truck notified.

Jan. 22

@1:39 p.m.: Police called to Franklin Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash. No injuries reported.

@9:58 p.m.: Police respond to a Franklin Street apartment complex on a report of a woman trapped in an elevator. The woman was freed and the elevator shut down until it was repaired.
