Police Log: Stoneham Officers Investigate Burnt Christmas Tree, Beer Bottles Left Near Towne Crest Drive Home

At 12:08 p.m. on Jan. 11, Stoneham Police called to Towne Crest Drive on a report of vandalism. A woman reportedly put out a Christmas tree a week ago for the trash collectors and later found it burned, with beer bottles around it. Wakefield Police were notified of the incident, but had not seen similar activity in town. Police to investigate.

@3:53 p.m.: Police called to William Street on a report of a past breaking and entering. A woman told police she arrived home and noticed her rear door forced open. Police to investigate.
@5:42 p.m.: Police respond to Colonial Court Apartments on Main Street following a box alarm activation. An odor of smoke in the building was reportedly caused by burnt food. Box recalled at 5:49 p.m.

@5:56 p.m.: Police called to South Street on a report of a two-car accident. State Police were notified. No injuries reported.

@4:18 p.m.: Police respond to Pine Street for a report of a past hit and run.
@9:28 p.m.: Police called to Green Street on a report of a past assault and battery. Police to investigate.
Jan. 12
@1:10 p.m.: Police respond to Marzino Lane for a report of damage done to a man's property after a tire fell off a passing vehicle four days ago. Police to investigate.
@4:16 p.m.: A woman visited the Police Station to report her husband stole her vehicle. Police to investigate.
@4:40 p.m.: Police called to Main Street on a report of a motor vehicle accident. Two vehicles were towed from the scene, and one person transported to Winchester Hospital. NSTAR was notified about damage to a pole.
Jan. 13
@12:25 p.m.: Police called to the scene of minor motor vehicle accident on Main Street. Drivers conducted a paper swap. No injuries reported.
@3:55 p.m.: Police respond to Bow Street for a report that two phones ordered and delivered to a man's home via UPS were never received. Police to investigate.
@5:20 p.m.: Police called to Dewitt Road on a report of a tree burning due to arcing wires. Problem resolved.
@6:02 p.m.: Police called to the Elm Street and MacArthur Road for a report of a large amount of broken glass in the roadway. DPW callman notified.
@9:58 p.m.: Police respond to a Montvale Avenue apartment on a report of a box alarm activation. Tenant reportedly burned popcorn in the microwave. Box recalled at 10:01 p.m.
