POLICE LOG: Stoneham Police Assist Woburn in Search of Armed Robbery Suspect

Check out some of the calls that kept Stoneham Police Department busy recently.

At 3:04 a.m. April 8, Woburn police reported a robbery of the Gulf Station on Montvale Avenue. The suspects' vehicle fled down the tunnel into Stoneham and crashed. Suspects fled on foot, officers searched and a K9 team was called in. The vehicle involved in the crash was reported stolen out of New Hampshire. The suspects were reportedly armed with knives. Woburn had the vehicle towed and Stoneham officers were cleared from assisting.

@8:37 a.m.: Police respond to Keene Street on a report of suspicious people asking for scrap metal. They were gone on arrival.

@1:54 p.m.: Police called to High Street on a report of identity fraud. Multiple accounts were opened in the woman's name. Police to investigate.

@1:58 p.m.: Police respond to the area of Elm and Main Streets for a report of a motor vehicle crash. A tractor trailer struck a light pole in the area, and the vehicle was later located at B.J.'s. Police to investigate.

@2:23 p.m.: Police called to the area of Elm and Main Streets on a report of a motor vehicle accident. No one was taken to a hospital and no tows reported.

@3:34 p.m.: Police respond to High Street on a report of an oil odor or possible spill in the area. A trail of oil under one gallon was found. Fuel cleaned up for area.

@10:40 p.m.: Police called to on a report of kids causing problems in the dining area of the restaurant. Problem resolved.

April 7

@10:02 a.m.: Police respond to Parker Chase Road for a report of a past hit and run. Police to investigate.

@12:08 p.m.: Police called to a mulch fire on Skyewood Drive. Large area was extinguished. Stoneham fire's Engine 3 needed water after handling the mulch fire.

@1:03 p.m.: Police called to the area of Main and South Streets for a report of a motor vehicle accident. No injuries were reported for the two-car crash, and both parties exchanged insurance paperwork. 

@1:26 p.m.: Police respond to Lindenwood Road for a report of a mulch fire. Water was used to put out the fire. 

@4:11 p.m.: Police receive a call about a dead cat in the roadway near a Pond Street resident's driveway. DPW callman picked up dead cat.

@6:26 p.m.: Police respond to West Street on a report of possible vandalism. Police to investigate.

April 8

@1:31 p.m.: Police called to Arnold Road to check on a suspicious man. David Dlugove, 24, of 43 Mudge St., Lynn, was arrested of several warrants charging him with four counts of operating a vehicle with a suspended license and two counts of violating an abuse preventiom order 

April 9

@9:52 a.m.: Police called to Park Street for a motor vehicle crash. State Police report no injuries.
