POLICE LOG: Stoneham Police Called to a Brush Fire at the Middlesex Fells Reservation

At 6:30 p.m. on March 18, Stoneham Police respond to the Ravine Road and Woodland Road area on a report of a brush fire. A hiker at the Middlesex Fells Reservation reported seeing a fire in the woods. Nothing was found on Ravine Road; however, Engine 3 located the fire south of the high service reservoir. State Police were notified that a lock had to be cut to gain access to the blaze. The fire was extinguished. Engine 3 returned from the scene needing to replenish the water tank. No one was reportedly injured during the fire.

@5:26 a.m.: Police called to Mountain View Drive on a report of a drilling noise as though someone is trying to break into one of the apartments. However, it was just a newspaper delivery man delivering papers.

@12:14 p.m.: Police called to the on a report of a larceny. After church, the man reportedly went to get his jacket with all his keys in it and it was gone.

@7:08 p.m.: Police called to the area for a report of multiple hypodermic needles found at the property. The items were retrieved and discarded properly.
