POLICE LOG: Stoneham Police Looking for Alleged Laptop Thief; Kids Cause Disturbance in Dunkin' Donuts by Playing Hockey in Store

At 12:10 p.m. on Feb. 3, Stoneham Police responded to a Pomeworth Street home on a report of a .

A man who supposedly resembles former New England Patriots player Rodney Harrison allegedly stole a laptop and confronted the homeowner with possibly a screwdriver, according to Stoneham Police Lt. Jim McIntyre.

The homeowner heard noises in their basement, went to investigate and discovered someone there, according to McIntyre.

The suspect exited the home, but shortly thereafter reappeared with a what appeared to be a screwdriver and confronted the homeowner, according to McIntyre. However, the homeowner was not injured during the incident.

The victim described the suspect as a black man with "close-cropped hair" and looked similar to Harrison, according to McIntyre.

The suspect may have fled from Pomeworthin the direction of William and Main Streets in a white Crossover-type SUV, according to the lieutenant.

A be-on-the-lookout was issued by Stoneham Police, McIntyre said. No arrests have been reported.

The investigation is ongoing.

Feb. 1

@7:03 a.m.: Police called to the area of Main Street and Montvale Avenue on a report of a tractor trailer hitting a traffic signal on southwestern corner while making a turn south. The driver and vehicle were identified during a stop, photos of the signal were taken and the DPW was notified.

Feb. 2

@9:46 a.m.: Police called to Manison Street for a report of a hit-and-run. A man's company vehicle was reportedly struck by an unknown vehicle sometime between Jan. 30-31. Police to investigate.

@10:21 a.m.: Police respond to the Fellsway East on reports of two vehicles vandalized. Police to investigate.

@3:34 p.m.: Police respond to an apartment on Pearl Street for a report of an oven fire. The fire was extinguished shortly after the report. No injuries were reported.

Feb. 3

@2:58 p.m.: Police called to Parker Chase Road for a box alarm activation at Building 1, Unit 3. Burnt food was the culprit in call. Smoke was cleared from the area and the alarm recalled at 3:16 p.m.

@4:32 p.m.: Police respond to Elm Street on a report of a motor vehicle crash One car was towed from the scene. Two people declined medical treatment.

@7:20 p.m.: Police respond to Montvale Avenue for a report of a sewer backing up into a home. The DPW callman was notified.

@7:31 p.m.: Police called to Thomas Circle on a report of credit card fraud. The victim's credit card was allegedly used to purchase $321 in tickets.

@7:54 p.m.: Police respond to the Dunkin' Donuts on Franklin Street for a report of kids playing hockey inside the store. Kids were told by officer to move along.
