Police Log: Three Arrests, Three Vehicle Break-Ins on Upland Road

Stoneham Police arrested three men on Oct. 15 on outstanding warrants in unrelated cases.

At 3:59 p.m., police were called to Franklin Street to serve a warrant. Brenden Rainey, 19, of 57 Franklin St., Stoneham, was arrested on a warrant charging him with assault.

At 5:29 p.m., police responded to the area of Stop & Shop Supermarket for a report of a man with active warrants. Shawn Byrne, 36, of 16 Charlegate Road, Billerica, was arrested on warrants charging him with failing to wear a seat belt, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, identity fraud and false impersonation and motor vehicle operator refusing to identify themself.

At 11:51 p.m., police were called to Franklin Street to serve a warrant. Berton Reed, 52, of 137 Franklin St., Stoneham, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicating liquor (fourth offense), operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, having an uninsured motor vehicle or trailer and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Oct. 14

@9:36 a.m.: Police responded to the Saint Patrick Parish area on Central Street for a report of a hit-and-run incident. The caller reported being in church when the front end of his vehicle was damaged, according to police. 

@9:14 a.m.: Police called to the area of Spring and Stevens Streets for a report of hypodermic needles found on the ground. Police recovered the items and disposed of them properly.

@8:28 p.m.: Police called to Interstate 93 southbound for a report of a two-car accident. Stoneham cleared by Woburn Fire, according to police.

Oct. 15

@5:01 a.m.: Police responded to Upland Road on a report of a past breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. The caller was uncertain if anything was stolen from the vehicle, according to police. The caller believes suspecs may still be in area because dogs barking, according to police. 

@5:26 a.m.: Stoneham Police received a call from Wakefield Police after Wakefield officers arrested three people for breaking and entering into motor vehicles in Wakefield, according to police. Wakefield Police recovered property from a Phillips Road home in Stoneham during the arrests, according to police. Police checked the Phillips Road area to see if any other break-ins had been reported, and a second resident on that road claims their vehicle was also gone through. Police to file a report.

@7:32 a.m.: Police called to the area of Elm and William Streets for a report of a two-car accident. A tow truck was called for both vehicles, according to police. Two patients declined medical transport, according to police, with one woman driver transported to her home.

@11:43 a.m.: Police responded to the Main and Maple Streets area for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Two patients declined transport, according to police.

@11:33 a.m.: Police called to Wilson Road for a report of past breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. Police to file a report.

@12:23 p.m.: Police responded to the area of Main and William Streets for a report of a two-car accident near the entrance to Stop & Shop Supermarket. Four patients refused transport, and one vehicle was towed, according to police.

@2:01 p.m.: Police called to the area of Lindenwood Road and Montvale Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Two vehicles towed, according to police.

@2:42 p.m.: Police responded to Morgan Avenue on a report of a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. The caller reported someone went through their unlocked vehicle, but nothing was taken, according to police. Police to file a report.

@3:33 p.m.: Police called to Upland Road on a report of a past breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. Door left open and glove compartment gone through, but nothing reported stole, according to police. Caller just wanted the incident logged, according to police. 

@4:06 p.m.: Police called to Upland Road for a past breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. Police to file a report.
