POLICE LOG: Two Stoneham Men Arrested on the Same Day

At 12:31 a.m. Oct. 12, Stoneham Police were called to Chestnut Street to check on a person that allegedly violated a restraining order in Watertown. Robert Breen, 32, of 22 Chestnut St., Stoneham, was arrested on a warrant charging him with violating an abuse prevention order.

At 3:14 p.m., police responded to Summer Street for a report of a disturbance. Charles Herbeck, 37, of 193 Park St., Stoneham, was arrested and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He was also arrested on a warrant charging him with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Oct. 12

@3:25 p.m.: Police responded to Wright Street for a report of a flimflam scheme over the Internet. Police to file a report.

@4:06 p.m.: Police called to Main Street on a report of an older man dancing in the parking lot. The man was gone on arrival, according to police.

@6:45 p.m.: Police responded to Center Beverage Savas Bros Co Inc. on Main Street to check on a possibly intoxicated man. The caller reported the allegedly drunk man fell over a tow truck lift and smashed his head on the ground, according to police. The man declined medical transport, according to police.

@10:12 p.m.: Police called to the Town Common for a report of minor vandalism to the walkway in the Common. 

Oct. 13

@2:47 a.m.: Police called to Main Street for a report of a hit-and-run incident. The caller reported a vehicle crashed into a vehicle in a parking lot and the male driver fled on Main Street heading north, according to police. Both parties eventually exchanged issurance paperwork, and police to file a report.

@6:55 a.m.: Police responded to Woodland Road for a report of a wire down with fire. NSTAR notified and a crew was en route. The primary wire was down and arcing, according to police. A fire engine extinguished the small brush fire, according to police. 

@3:49 p.m.: Police called to the area of Franklin and Stevens Streets on a report of a motor vehicle accident. One person was transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, according to police.

@5:23 p.m.: Police responded to the Marshalls parking lot area for a report of a minor motor vehicle accident.

@7:04 p.m.: Police called to the area of Franklin and Summer Streets for a report of several gunshots. Officers search the area and could not located any evidence that gun(s) had been fired, according to police. Another area resident claims to have heard the same noise, but it may be the sound of fireworks, according to police.
