POLICE LOG: Vandal Paints Obscenities on the Windows of a Stoneham Resident's Vehicle

At 11:28 p.m. March 31, Stoneham police responded to Evans Road for a report of someone painting obsenities on the windows of a woman's daughter's vehicle. Police to investigate vandalism case.

@6:42 a.m.: Police respond to Country Club Road on a report of vandalism. Man claims paint thrown at his elderly father's vehicle; however, it turned out to be mustard and it was washed from the vehicle. No damage done to the vehicle.

@10:24 a.m.: Police called to Pond Street for a motor vehicle accident. No injuries reported. State police notified.

@11:05 a.m.: Police respond to for a report of a gas odor. A low carbon monoxide reading was noted and the building ventilated. Problem identified and will be fixed.

@11:52 a.m.: Police respond to the area of Hill and Marble Streets for a report of a missing street sign. DPW notified.

@1:48 p.m.: Police called to Main Street on a report of a past hit and run. Officers located the offending driver and they will return to the scene to exchange insurance paperwork.

@2:45 p.m.: Police called to Pond Street for reports of a motor vehicle accident in front of . State police called in. One person declined medical treatment.

@6:38 p.m.: Police respond to Summer Street on a report of violation of a protective order. David Chiaradonna, 22, of 32 Crosby St., Stoneham, was arrested and charged with violation of an abuse prevention order.

@7:47 p.m.: Police called to the area of Avalon Road and Fieldstone Drive for a report of an outside fire. The fire was located on Stonewood Avenue and extinguished.

March 31

@8:05 a.m.: Police receive a call about a sewer backup inside an Avalon Road residence. DPW callman notified.

@6:59 p.m.: Police called to  for a report of shoplifting. A woman allegedly stolen an armful of clothing and left through the back door. Police have requested a summons.

April 1

@11:10 a.m.: Police called to Elm Street on a report of a car that crashed into a pole. One person was taken to Lahey Clinic. The vehicle was towed from the scene. NSTAR notified.

@1:11 p.m.: A good samaritan turned in an iPod and debit card he reportedly found on Franklin Street. Message was left for owner. Items were stored in police locker.
