Popular Plymouth Theater On Fire

PLYMOUTH, NH- The Flying Monkey, part of the popular Common Man group in New Hampshire, is currently under a three-alarm blaze that started in a connecting building. An event was going on in the theater/venue at the time, but all are assumed out of the buildings safe. The fire is still burning at this time. As an active scene, we are on site and will update with further details when available.

UPDATE (10:50PM): According to a Facebook post from the venue’s official account, everyone has been evacuated safely. The Fire chief was not available for comment but a routing patrol supervisor did confirm the details.

UPDATE (11:00PM): Per official release, the NH State Fire Marshal’s crew has been called on site for further backup. The fire has continued to expand and grow and it is possible that a fourth alarm is added. Wind conditions are somewhat challenging as well.

UPDATE (11:30PM): Per press conference, fire started at Downtown Pizza, next door, and then expanded to the nearby buildings. It has now been downgraded to a two-alarm and is currently controllable, according to fire officials.

UPDATE (11:40PM): Fire is mostly contained, and a small team of crews will remain on site throughout the next few hours. Most engines have departed. Damage likely to be assessed in the coming days, per sources on scene. This is the final update from the scene, in Plymouth.

UPDATE (11:00AM): Per our partners at WMUR, the fire has been extinguished after a long night of flare-ups. Also reported, a Plymouth firefighter was hospitalized with non-critical injuries and is expected to recover. The Flying Monkey is assumed to have minimal damage to the back-side of the venue. The majority of the damage is assumed to be contained within the Downtown Pizza where the fire started and the former Peppercorn Natural Store building. No information on damages could be confirmed at the time of this release to WMUR or Patch.
