Power Outages Reported in Stoneham, Neighboring Towns
Outages in Stoneham, Woburn and other towns have been reported.

There are reports of power outages in Stoneham and neighboring towns.
5:30 p.m. — Drummond Road is reportedly without power. Stoneham Patch attempted to reach NSTAR via phone and email, but have yet to receive a return phone call or email.

"At approximately 12:46, while an NSTAR crew was working on a de-energerized transmission line in Woburn, a pole fell on another NSTAR transmission line causing a major outage," said RMLD Community Relations Manager Priscilla Gottwald. "RMLD residents and businesses in Wilmington, Reading, Lynnfield and North Reading fed by this NSTAR transmission line lost power. Surrounding towns of Tewksbury, Woburn, Stoneham and Billerica were also affected. NSTAR crews in Woburn and National Grid crews in Tewksbury are working on the problem and hope to have the power restored by 3:30 today."
1:23 p.m. — Woburn Police is reporting that NStar was replacing a "grid" when the power went down this afternoon, shortly before 1 p.m.

The Woburn Department of Public Works added the work was being done on Commerce Way when the outage occured.
Power is slowing coming back in sections of the city.
1:15 p.m. — Woburn Police and have been responding to several reports of power outages in the area this afternoon.
Shortly before 1 p.m., reports of power outages at Unicorn Park on Montvale Avenue, all of the Cummings Properties buildings in the area, the Tower Office Park, Fresh Express and Staples on Washington Street began to come into the Woburn dispatch center.
Police also received word of a woman stuck in an elevator at Tower Office Park and another person trapped in an elevator at NuPath due to the outage.
Woburn Fire said the outage was "large scale" and extended beyond the city.
Reporter Nadine Wandzilak said parts of Reading were out, and Twitter user @johnpstyles reported Stoneham was out. Our colleagues at Wilmington Patch also reported parts of Wilmington without power.
Traffic lights at Washington and Cedar streets were also out at 1 p.m. this afternoon.
No word yet on what has caused the power outage. We'll provide more details as they come in.
