BOSTON – Tuesday, March 25, 2025 – Representative Michael S. Day recently joined his colleagues from the Legislature, town officials and elder care professionals to discuss the services Mystic Valley Elderly Services (MVES) provides for seniors.
“Mystic Valley Elderly Services provides our community with essential support for our elderly and disabled residents,” Representative Day said. “Their services connect families with resources that enable our loved ones to live and age with dignity.”
Since 1975, MVES has partnered with individuals and caregivers across Massachusetts' Mystic Valley region. Collectively, they serve eleven cities and towns and have a staff of more than 300 and over 400 volunteers. They are a regional leader in home and community-based services for the elderly and disabled communities.

Lisa Gurgone, CEO of MVES, highlighted the group’s advocacy and agenda for the 2025-2026 legislative session. Gurgone expressed concerns about threats the Trump Administration has made regarding cuts to federally funded programs upon which MVES and organizations like it rely.
