Attempted Armed Robbery at Stoneham Convenience Store Sunday Night

There was an attempted armed robbery at the C-Store Sunday night, according to police.

The same suspect involved in five Stoneham area armed robberies attempted a sixth Sunday night at a Main Street convenience in Stoneham, but he was unsuccessful this time, according to police. Check out our full report.

An armed robbery at a Stoneham convenience store took place Sunday night, according to a Twitter report.

At 9:30 p.m., Twitter user @joebrownphotos tweeted about an armed robbery at the C-Store in Stoneham.

"ARMED (ROBBERY) ATTEMPT - 41 Main St. - near the Reading line - (perpetrator) fled down North (Street.) (Request) K-9 for track. Clerk (possibly) mace'd the perp."

As of 10 p.m., no arrests have been reported. It's unclear what may have been stolen from the store.

Prior to this incident, there had been five armed robberies in the Stoneham area since Oct. 30, including two in Stoneham and one in Melrose, Winchester and Woburn.
