The Stoneham Central Middle School PTO wishes to express thanks to the Stoneham Business and Community Educational Foundation (SBCEF) for providing a grant that helped to pay for field trips for our 6th and 7th grade this past spring. Field trips were not originally planned as part of the 2021-2022 school year, with so many restrictions on events due to COVID-19. Late in the year, these restrictions were lifted and the PTO and the school did everything possible to make field trips a reality, including applying for a grant to help fund the trips, which have increased exponentially in recent years due to rising transportation costs.
Thanks in part to a grant awarded by the SBCEF, the 6th and 7th grade were able to have field trips to the Museum of Science in Boston!
The Stoneham Business and Community Foundation (SBCEF) (www.sbcef.org) is a non-profit organization formed to develop a partnership among Stoneham's citizens, educational community, and business sector. Its goal is to promote the personal and educational growth of the town's youth. This organization has generously sponsored many wonderful events at Stoneham Central Middle School throughout recent years, for which we are very grateful.
