Robert Newell Passes Away

Stoneham resident and Medford High grad enjoyed carpentry, golfing, being in his garden and building.

Robert W. Newell, 58, beloved husband of Lynn (Glover) Newell, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at his home in Stoneham. Born in Stoneham, he is the son of the late Wilfred and Constance (Cecere) Newell.
Bob grew up in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School.

He then attended and graduated from the Wentworth Institute in Boston with a Bachelor Degree in Architectural Engineering. Bob enjoyed carpentry, golfing, being in his garden and building. He was kind natured and had a gentle soul. Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather to his Avery "Rose." He will truly be missed by his family and all who knew him.

In addition to his wife of 24 years, Lynn, he is survived by two children: Lisa D'Attilio and her significant other Nick LaBrie and Zachary Newell and his significant other Amber Darcy; one grand daughter: Avery "Rose" LaBrie; two siblings: Lee Newell-Dion and her husband Patrick and William Newell and his wife Betty; mother-in-law: Barbara Glover; his faithful dog Gus; along with many loving nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.

Bob's funeral will be held from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St., Stoneham on Friday at 9 am. A funeral mass celebrating Bob's Eternal Life will follow at St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 am. There are no visiting hours or interment.

Memorial donations may be made in Bob's Memory to the Epilepsy Foundation, 335 Main St., Wilmington, MA 01887 or to North Shore Pain Management, 800 West Cummings Park Ste. 1200, Woburn, MA 01801.
