Robin Hood students finish off the year with high energy assembly
SBCEF supports program of fitness and integrity in Stoneham elementary school
If you witness some nostalgic scenes from the past of children jumping rope this summer in Stoneham, it is thanks to a school enrichment program at Robin Hood Elementary School last week. Guinness World Record holder and National Fitness Hall of Fame Inductee, Mark Rothstein, spent the day with students ranging from preschool to 4th grade, with a message of fitness and character building.
He wowed the students with his rope jumping tricks and inspired them not only to exercise and be physically fit, but also to be kind, courteous humans, rewarding acts of kindness he was witnessing on the spot in their school gym. After a schoolwide assembly, students got to come back to the gym for grade-level workshops, where every student got the chance to jump rope (at times more than 70 students at a time!).
After a year that started off encouraging students to "Be Your Own Super Hero," and to "Be the Nice Kid," with continuous messages inspiring kindness, Mark Rothstein was an appropriate finale, recognizing leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

This program was made possible through support of the Robin Hood PTO and a grant received from the Stoneham Business and Community Educational Foundation (SBCEF).
The Stoneham Business and Community Foundation (SBCEF) (www.sbcef.org) is a non-profit organization formed to develop a partnership among Stoneham's citizens, educational community, and business sector. Its goal is to promote the personal and educational growth of the town's youth. This organization has generously sponsored many wonderful events at Robin Hood throughout recent years, for which we are very grateful.
