Sheehan Humbled By News He Is Stoneham's Choice
Melrose resident picked by Select Board to be new Town Administrator.

Dennis Sheehan wasn't at Wednesday's Select Board meeting so his reaction after being told via phone that he was Stoneham's new Town Administrator was know only to chair Shelly MacNeill. But Thursday that changed.
"I am extremely humbled by yesterday's vote and am grateful for the time and resources that the Stoneham community committed to the evaluation process," said Sheehan. "I look forward to working with the entire Select Board, town committees, department heads, staff and residents to provide the highest level of service while continuously focusing on sound financial management and maintaining an eye on the opportunities that lay ahead. Yesterday was an important day and I am optimistic about the future of Stoneham."
Sheehan was selected from a field of three finalists including Somerville Alderman William White and Lynnfield Assistant Town Administrator Bob Curtin. Sheehan, currently the Director of Administration and Finance for the Department of Public Works, attended the Select Board meeting Tuesday after a day spent talking with the heads of various Stoneham departments.
