SHS Boys' Soccer Team Says Thanks for Successful Car Wash
The group held a car wash on Sept. 11 at Stoneham High School.

[Editor's note: The following is a Letter to the Editor submitted by the boys' soccer team.]
To the Editor:
The Stoneham Boys Soccer Team would like to offer thanks to everyone who supported our car wash on Sept. 11. Thanks to the generosity of all who donated, we will be able to donate a raffle prize to the “Kicks for Cancer” event that is sure to raise a lot of money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

In particular, thank you to all the parents, grandparents and friends of Stoneham Youth Soccer who were so generous with their donations that day. Also, a special thank you to the “man on a motorcycle,” who stopped by and told us that he had two children who graduated from Stoneham High, and a parent who had fought cancer. His donation was truly memorable – not only for the amount, but for the story connected to it. He's a great example of the reason we as a team are so motivated to make this event special. We’d also like to thank all the parents who helped at the car wash – especially Rich DeAngelo and Greg Doyle – and of course, Coach Carino.
We’d like to remind everyone that we’ll be playing our regular Middlesex League game versus Wakefield at Kicks for Cancer on Oct. 1 at Concord Carlisle High School. We invite everyone to come out to the event and show your support for the great work of Dana-Farber.
