SHS Student Honored At Law Day Ceremony in Woburn
Stoneham High School student Sarah Pizzano was one of 24 students to receive an award recently at the Middlesex Superior courthouse.

WOBURN — Twenty-four high school juniors and seniors from around Middlesex County, along with their families, took part in a regional Law Day event aimed at honoring students for their citizenship and providing them an opportunity to examine and celebrate the legacy of John Adams, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone recently announced..
This year’s event was titled The Legacy of John Adams, from Boston to Guantanamo and was held at the Middlesex Superior courthouse May 5. District Attorney Gerry Leone was the event's keynote speaker.

Leone paid tribute to the citizenship, courage and principled conviction of John Adams, and congratulated students on their honors. Sarah Pizzano, a student at , was one award recipient.
“I commend these students for their commitment and dedication to their education and for their efforts within their communities,” Leone said. “As District Attorney it is always rewarding to honor students who are shining examples of good citizens who are making good choices for themselves and their futures.”

The students selected to participate in Law Day were chosen by their school principal based on their outstanding citizenship exhibited by leadership, academic and athletic accomplishments. Each student was honored with an award from Leone, President of Middlesex County Bar Association Lloyd Godson, President Elect of the Middlesex County Bar Association Philip Privitera and Middlesex County Sheriff Peter Koutoujian. The parents of each student and their teachers were also invited to attend.
