Stoneham Boys' Hoops Wins in First Round Upset
The team won its opening game against Shawsheen Tech Wednesday.
STONEHAM, MA—The Stoneham Boys’ basketball team upset No. 3 Shawsheen Tech in the first round of the MIAA North Division 3 tournament on Wednesday knocking them out of the tournament.
The No. 14 Spartans topped Shawsheen 60-50 Wednesday night. Shawsheen entered the game with a 12-6 record, while the Spartans entered with a 7-13 mark.
The Spartans will play the winner of Thursday's contest between Amesbury and Saugus.
