Stoneham Coalition Hosts First Annual "Parent University"
The Stoneham Coalition will be hosting "Parent University" on Saturday, 3/21 at Central Middle School

The Stoneham Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Community will be holding its first "Parent University" on Saturday, March 21st 2020 from 8am-12pm at Central Middle School. Parent University provides knowledge and advice from community experts through a series of free workshops focusing on student’s educational experience and well-being. The theme of this year's program is "The Whole Child- Raising Kids Who Thrive." Parents of children of all ages are encouraged to attend and childcare will be provided by the Boys and Girls Club of Stoneham.
The program will kick off with a keynote presentation from Ty Sells from Youth to Youth International. Sells brings over twenty two years of experience in youth development and has created presentations for both youth and adults to address the many complex issues that confront today’s young people.
Other workshops include: Healthy Balance: Screen Time & Youth , The Secret Lives of Teens & Tweens, Successful Transitions - Getting Kindergarten Ready!, Bullying and the Power Differential ,"They were the top of their class, then life happened" The Art of Going to College", College Prep - The Financial Questions, Suicide Prevention Training from Samaritans Inc and Supporting LBGTQ youth.

"We hope that Parent University is an opportunity to provide parents and guardians, or anyone with a young person in their lives, resources and skills to engage and connect with their children, from kindergarten through college," says Kayla Vodka, Program Director for the Stoneham Coalition.
