Stoneham Delegation Secures $380,000 for Local Priorities
State Legislature sends funding to Stoneham in Fiscal Year 2025 state budget

BOSTON—State Senator Jason Lewis and State Representative Michael Day are pleased to announce that they secured $380,000 for various local priorities in Stoneham as part of the final Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Massachusetts state budget.
The FY25 state budget, totaling $58 billion, received final passage by the House of Representatives and Senate on July 19, 2024, and was signed into law by Governor Maura Healey on July 29, 2024. This budget delivers significant levels of investment in early education and childcare, K-12 public schools, public higher education, housing, healthcare, transportation, workforce development, and more, as part of a comprehensive strategy to make Massachusetts more affordable and equitable for all.
Within the budget, Senator Lewis and Representative Day secured funding for the following Stoneham local priorities:

- $150,000 for Stoneham Public Schools for curriculum improvements.
- $50,000 for Stoneham Public Schools for technology and hardware improvements.
- $50,000 for Stoneham Public Schools for extra-curricular programs.
- $80,000 for the Greater Boston Stage Company for capital improvements.
- $50,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Stoneham and Wakefield to purchase a mobile food trailer.
“This budget will deliver substantial resources to our communities, and make our state more affordable for working families by helping to address the high costs of housing, healthcare, childcare, and college,” said State Senator Jason Lewis. “I’m especially pleased that Representative Day and I were able to also secure funding for some important local Stoneham priorities.”
“I am extremely grateful that my colleagues in the House supported my earmark requests for additional funding to the Stoneham public schools while the Town deals with its own budget challenges and am very happy Senator Lewis advocated for their inclusion in the final budget with the Senate,” said State Representative Michael Day. “I was also pleased to advocate for the inclusion of Senator Lewis’s earmarks for the Greater Boston Stage Company and the Boys and Girls Club to support these Stoneham institutions.
