Stoneham Field Of Honor Returning This November
The Field Of Honor is returning to Stoneham for its third year.
From Nov. 4-12, hundreds of full-sized flags will honor veterans, military members and first
responders at the Central Middle School field.
After beginning in 2020 with 150 flags, this year's event is looking to triple that number.
Proceeds go to veterans causes.
Events for all of Veterans Week include
Nov 4-12 Field of Honor Flag Event 101 Central St open 24/7
Nov 6 Opening Ceremony & Concert 101 Central St 2:00pm
Nov 10 Flag Retirement Ceremony 101 Central St time TBA
Nov 11 Veterans Day Ceremony 35 Central St 10:30am
Nov 11 Veterans 5K Road Race 35 Central St 11:30am
Nov 12 Closing Ceremony 101 Central St 12:00pm
Taps played nightly at 5pm, rain or shine. Field is illuminated overnight. Educational
information will be available at the field. We will also be collecting worn flags, and gift cards
for veterans in need, for the holidays, at the field all week.
Who's the hero in your life? Honor them with a flag of their own! The days leading up to and
surrounding Veterans Day are the perfect time to remember and honor the men and women
who have by their dedication become heroes in our lives. Sponsor a flag for a veteran, active
military or first responder.
Our unity as a people is expressed by the U.S. flag, which symbolizes our shared history, values
and aspirations. As we have come together to overcome a pandemic, we have gained
increased appreciation for heroes who have placed themselves in harm’s way to protect and
serve us all. To our soldiers and first responders, both past and present we owe you our thanks,
but more than that, we owe you our freedom.
