Breaking News: PHOTOS, VIDEO: Stoneham Fire Battles Garage Blaze on Cherry Avenue

Stoneham firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a fire at 10 Cherry Avenue that broke out around 11 p.m. Monday night.

First arriving companies had fire and smoke showing from the one and half story garage which was attached to the main house. The incident commander transmitted a second alarm, which brought additional fire crews from Reading, Wakefield and Melrose to the fire scene.

The fire was mainly confined to the garage area, with no apparent extension to the main house. All occupants were able to exit the house prior to arrival of the Stoneham Fire Department, and no injuries were reported at the scene. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
