Stoneham Man Charged With Attacking Girlfriend With a Switchblade in Tewksbury

William C. Stella, III, 32, of 294 West Wyoming Ave., Stoneham, was arrested Dec. 10 around 2:30 a.m. at the Shell Station on the corner of Main and Chandler Streets in Tewksbury after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.

A Stoneham man is facing multiple charges after allegedly attacking his girlfriend with a knife and then stealing her car.

William C. Stella, III, 32, of 294 West Wyoming Ave., Stoneham, was arrested Dec. 10 around 2:30 a.m. at the Shell Station on the corner of Main and Chandler Streets in Tewksbury. He is charged with assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, use of a motor vehicle without permission, intimidating a witness, wanton destruction of property with a value greater than $250, carrying a dangerous weapon and operating a motor vehicle after his license had been revoked.

The incident began just after 2 a.m., when received a 911 call from a woman on Rogers Street, who said her boyfriend had just attacked her with a switchblade knife.

Three units responded to the scene and the woman told the officers that her boyfriend had fled the scene in her car. A BOLO (Be On the Lookout) was put out for Stella but was cancelled when he was spotted at the Shell Station by a Tewksbury officer.

The victim was not seriously injured in the incident.
